A building transformed into a giant gallery
What if your face became a street art masterpiece? On Saturday, October 17th, Jules Michelet square in Rillieux-la-Pape will host Inside Out, the participatory project imagined by French artist JR. The concept is straightforward: step into a photo truck, have your portrait taken, then discover your face displayed larger-than-life on the façade of a building destined for demolition. A way to leave your mark before the walls disappear.
Local residents at the heart of the artwork
Here, the stars aren't celebrities, but those who bring the neighborhood to life every day. Residents, workers, and passersby will compose this open-air human mural. Launched by JR, Inside Out has already engaged over 600,000 participants across 154 countries, from New York to the pyramids of Giza. Rillieux-la-Pape is now set to join an artistic adventure on a global scale.
