It's a pause, not a goodbye. The 5-star hotel Villa Florentine and its Michelin-starred restaurant Les Terrasses de Lyon welcomed their last guests during the final weekend of the Christmas holidays. The aim of this closure: three months of renovation work to breathe new life into this place perched high above Old Lyon, with the same promise of a breathtaking view of the capital of Gaul.

The acquisition marks a strategic turning point for the establishment. At the beginning of October, the Lyon-based hotel group Beauvallon Collection took over the Villa Florentine. Before starting the renovation, the new owner made a bold decision: to part with some of the furniture and art pieces from the hotel through an exceptional auction, organized this Wednesday, January 7.

Over 600 items up for auction

It’s a rare opportunity to walk away with a piece of the venue's history. No less than 600 objects and pieces of furniture will be offered for sale. The 55 most prestigious items will be showcased at 1 PM directly at the Villa Florentine. Among them are several 19th-century bronze sculptures, including The Florentine Singer by Paul Dubois, estimated between 2,000 and 4,000 euros, as well as carefully selected paintings and designer furniture.

At the same time, a hotel sale is taking place on January 7th and 8th, perfect for cool finds before the transformation of this iconic Lyon palace.
