A decor worthy of your wildest dreams
Among the most amazing and original spots in Lyon, La Nef des Fous stands out as a top choice. Nestled in the heart of Vieux Lyon, on the famous rue du Boeuf, also known as the most star-studded street in France, this restaurant pays homage to a painting by the Dutch artist Hieronymus Bosch, depicting an allegory of the sin of gluttony in joyful company. A work titled... "The Ship of Fools"!

Traditional Cuisine & Fresh Ingredients
Whether you're visiting as a couple, with family, friends, or for a business meal, La Nef des Fous will delight your taste buds with traditional French cuisine, subtly enhanced by herbs and spices from around the world, thanks to the talented chef Justine Putelat. The restaurant even has its own smoker to offer treats like wood-smoked duck breast and salmon, providing an unforgettable taste experience and unmatched flavor.
A menu that matches the decor
Here, starters are offered at €13, main courses at €26.90, and desserts at €9. But we definitely recommend indulging in the starter, main course, dessert, or cheese menu for only €39.90. Featured dishes include: Smoked Label Rouge salmon with beech wood, Ravioles with Comté in a casserole, Vegetable arancini, and Cervelle de canut as starters; Beef Bourguignon, House-smoked duck breast, Handmade Pike quenelle, or Mushroom and Morel risotto as main courses, and finally, for desserts, Half-cooked chocolate cake, Paris-Brest, Lost brioche, and Half Saint-Marcellin in herbed cream baked in the oven.
To help everything slide down smoothly, the house also offers a lovely wine list featuring an extensive selection of the finest French appellations and prestigious vintages. Rest assured, you have indeed found yourself in one of Lyon's most original, quirky, and vibrant spots. A place where time seems to stand still, whisking us away to the round table of King Arthur... unless we’re actually in a Parisian brasserie from the Roaring Twenties... In short, we are totally lost. Lost in delight!
