There are ideas that can change a life, and sometimes, they come from a simple documentary. Martine Quiles, then a civil servant, stumbles upon a report about a farmer turning his cows' milk into ice cream. Immediate lightbulb moment. She quits everything, puts on an apron, earns a diploma in ice cream making, trains with the Best Workers of France, and dives headfirst into this exciting adventure! Off she goes to Ain, where the family farm Rimaud, established in 1947, becomes the playground for her frosty transformation.

In this postcard-perfect setting, around a hundred cows graze peacefully while Martine and her son Guillaume, now running the farm, are busy transforming their milk into frozen gold. Rimo, that's the name of their project: ultra-local artisanal ice creams, crafted from A to Z, from the udder to the tub. After Pérouges and Ars, the dynamic duo opened a new location on Cours Vitton in May 2025, right in the heart of Lyon 6th. And we can already tell you: it's a milky knockout!

Award-winning ice creams from around the world
Here, we don't have industrial ice creams full of air and artificial colors. At Rimo, we focus on local flavor and craftsmanship. The flavors? Classic delights like hazelnut and walnut, bold locally-inspired options like Chartreuse, and a few refreshing sorbets made from fruits sourced from local producers. Served in cups or cones, to go or enjoyed on the terrace, each spoonful takes you back to the farm. And it speaks for itself: the medals won at the International Contest in Lyon tell the story.
So yes, there are ice creams that refresh... and then there are those that tell a story. Rimo's story is a sweet blend of passion, tradition, and 100% local ice cream. A must-taste!
