Already present in the 9th, 2nd, and 3rd districts of Lyon, the solidarity and participatory concept Les Petites Cantines is opening its 5th location in the Lyon area this Tuesday, precisely in Vieux-Lyon at 11 rue Saint-Georges. A restaurant that will have the largest surface area of all the Les Petites Cantines network (which has 10 locations throughout France).

This spot that promotes meetings and connections between residents will open its doors on Tuesday, February 28th in historical and fully refurbished premises of 130m² that can welcome 30 to 40 guests per day to cook or simply share meals. Around thirty volunteer residents have been collaborating for 18 months to create this unique place.

A meal at the price you want

The idea is simple and amazing: first, guests join the association of the Petites Cantines (at a free price and valid for one year). Once members, they can go to the establishment to get involved either by proposing a recipe idea, cooking, doing the dishes...or just by sitting at the table to enjoy a good meal.

The meals are offered at a flexible price, meaning everyone can give what they want based on their means. These meals aim to be healthier and more responsible since the majority of the products used come from local short supply chains, mainly organic products in bulk and leftovers from merchants.
