On March 3rd, a brand-new concept will tickle the taste buds of comfort food lovers: Gratin, the very first ravioli bar in the city, will open its doors at 198 Rue Garibaldi, right in the heart of the 3rd arrondissement. A delicious tribute to Mère Maury, the icon of Isère ravioli, who elevated this little square of stuffed dough to the rank of a must-try culinary specialty.
Ravioli in Every Shape and Form
At Gratin, ravioli comes in all shapes and sizes. Of course, you’ll find the classic version smothered in cream, but there are also more original recipes that will delight both purists and the curious. There are indulgent gratins with St Marcellin or porcini mushrooms, exotic broths with curry, coconut, and peppers, seafood ravioli, and even a sweet chocolate version. Yes, you read that right: ravioli is making an appearance for dessert!
Pasta from Salad to Dessert
For discovery lovers, Gratin will regularly offer unique creations with fillings that break the mold: foie gras, black garlic, tomato-basil, pulled duck, and even white truffle… It’s sure to give this local gem a serious kick of flavor. All this while staying true to tradition, as the restaurant has chosen to work with the famous ravioles from Mère Maury, produced since 1875 in Romans-sur-Isère.
