Forget the daily grind and leave your rationality at home: on July 26 and 27, 2025, the town of Péage de Roussillon in the Loire, just over an hour from Lyon, transforms into an enchanted portal to the strange and wonderful. Its name? The Estrange Festival. An event like no other, where cauldrons, runes, and electronic music come together in a delightfully queer-friendly medieval atmosphere. Here, flying brooms are taken with a pinch of humor, but the values are very serious: inclusion, kindness, and open-mindedness. In short, a true magic circle where everyone is welcome, whether you're a seasoned wizard, a curious muggle, or just on the hunt for extraordinary spells.

Creator Market, Concerts, and Mystical Conferences
At the heart of this joyful gathering is a team led by Lisa Boucher, who proudly champions a feminist festival rooted in a contemporary reimagining of the witch figure. Because behind the wands, we also talk about History, memory, and struggles. Conferences will shake off dusty clichés and remind us that the witch hunt was primarily a hunt for women. You’ll need to reserve your spot to attend, but in between lively discussions, the program remains delightfully sensory. When night falls, the spells turn musical: the harp, violin, and dreamy electro sounds from the duo Lunéris, not to mention Magical Power on the decks, promising a mystical trance experience.

But L’Estrange doesn’t just make spirits dance: all weekend long, workshops on natural magic will let you brew your own potions, discover the secrets of plants, and awaken your creativity. It’s an event that celebrates both folklore and the power to imagine differently. So, ready to don your cape?
