This year, the famous Festival of Lights 2025 will take place from Friday, December 5 to Monday, December 8 in Lyon. It's perfectly timed with the religious calendar, as December 8, the feast day of the Virgin Mary, is the highlight of the celebration. It's also one of the rare editions that will end on a Monday, which enhances the symbolic and traditional aspect of the event.

More than 2 million visitors are expected for this unmissable event in Lyon. Every year, the city transforms into a massive theater of lights, featuring spectacular artistic installations, monumental projections, and a magical atmosphere that attracts both locals and tourists from around the globe.
The Lumignons du Cœur: a solidarity initiative
As always, the Festival of Lights will be accompanied by the solidarity operation of the Lumignons du Cœur. Visitors can purchase a lumignon for the price of €2, with all proceeds going to a charitable organization. A little candle that lights up the city, but more importantly, brings joy to many beneficiaries.

In 2025, the donations collected will support Singa, an organization dedicated to the inclusion of refugees. Present at the Biennales de l'Hospitalité and a partner of the newly established Maison de l'Hospitalité, the organization fosters lasting connections between displaced individuals and the host society. This choice adds even more meaning to the event.
A program still to be discovered
The City of Lyon has already announced some key highlights but is keeping the remainder of the program under wraps. In the coming weeks, the artists and installations that will adorn the Presqu'île and the iconic monuments will be gradually revealed.
