The curtains of the Palais des Congrès opened to reveal the image of a city torn apart by the conflicts between the Montagues and the Capulets. 25 years later, this show, undoubtedly in the pantheon of our favorite musicals, is preparing for its grand return. And even though we were thrilled to catch a glimpse of the singer in the remake of Notre-Dame de Paris two years ago, nothing could have prepared us for the dose of happiness we felt upon learning the news: he is back! Indeed, starting December 3, 2027, the musical Romeo and Juliet: Love Never Dies— which has had a slight name change, but we’re all good with that — will make its big comeback on French stages, first in Paris and then in Lyon on March 24, 25, and 26, 2028!Voir cette publication sur Instagram
A 2.0 version… but not too much
For this new tour, we can look forward to a reinvented version of the original show: new cast, new costumes, new staging, all of it “rethought for today without ever touching the show's DNA.” However, some elements will remain unchanged: the presence of Damien Sargue and his stage partner Cécilia Cara, along with Gérard Presgurvic, the original composer of the musical, who will be returning to the project. More information and cast members will be revealed bit by bit leading up to the show (which is in more than a year and a half, so there’s plenty of time).
