The Japan Game Festival pays tribute to the Japanese creators who shaped the history of video games. After the success of Poly’Gones and the Warp-Zone Festival, Retro Polo, the well-known Lyon gamer videomaker, is back with an event dedicated to the Japanese giants of the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. Famicom, Dreamcast, PC Engine, Super Famicom… over 120 consoles and arcade machines will be available, all playable for free. A true dive into the golden age of video games where Mario, Sonic, and Link reigned supreme.

Prestigious guests for a legendary weekend

The festival will host legends from the video game world and iconic figures from geek culture. Among them: Jean-Marc Demoly (also known as JM Destroy), cult creator Frédérick Raynal (Alone in the Dark, Little Big Adventure), and the tireless Marcus, the face of Game One and Level One. British composer Cold Storage (Tim Wright), famous for the soundtracks of WipEout and Lemmings, will also be there, accompanied by a life-sized replica of the legendary Feisar ship. In short, a lineup that will truly resonate with the nostalgic spirit of gamers across all generations.

A lively and interactive video game museum

The Japan Game Festival will take visitors on a true journey through time. With interactive booths, exciting conferences (like “The Japanese Domination of the 80s/90s” and “The History of Nintendo”), and live concerts, this event promises a complete immersion into the gaming universe. And for the lucky ones, raffles will give you a chance to take home exclusive collector’s items.
