The pumpkin takes center stage as the queen of autumn in the heart of Lyon. The Pumpkin Festival is back on October 11 and 12, 2025, at Parc de la Tête d'Or for a free and creative edition. Organized by Lyon Nature and the educational service of the City, this year’s event celebrates art with an evocative theme: “Art takes center stage with pumpkins!.”

An exciting artistic journey awaits visitors

Featuring original installations, reimagined paintings, and a pop-up museum created in collaboration with the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Lyon, the festival transforms pumpkins into true living artworks. For the occasion, the museum will also be adorned with a temporary garden sculpted in gourds, creating a unique dialogue between nature and culture.

Workshops and tours for both young and old will also brighten up the weekend. Botanists, cultural mediators, and artists will guide the public through two-part visits in the greenhouses, a drawing workshop with Béloine Ovize, and family activities to discover the artistic history of this emblematic vegetable. It's a great opportunity to learn while having fun and to see squash from a surprising perspective.

Festive atmosphere and treats

Painting to music with Gael Dod, an Afro-world concert featuring Manolo and Loop, street art performances by La Coulure and Léo Galindo, or even poetic stories like Whispers of Autumn, the festival promises a friendly and surprising vibe. And of course, delicious treats are never too far away. The market will offer jams, cookies, chestnuts, and more!

rilled, crunchy squashes, and handmade creations. Enough to fill your basket while extending the festival experience at home.
