You might have missed it last year, but this time, no excuses: the expo The Traveling Museum. Readings of Miyazaki is making its grand return to the capital of Gaul, in a nomadic and accessible version for everyone. After literally smashing attendance records at the Museum of Printing (with a +100% increase in visitors, just like that), it is now preparing to take over the town halls of Lyon's districts, starting with the 2nd district from June 11th onwards. Goal: to pay tribute to the master of Japanese animation while bringing art out of the beaten paths.
A traveling expo through the town halls of Lyon's districts
The expo, which had already charmed crowds with its immersive and poetic approach, will therefore travel through the city until 2026 as part of the Power 9 project. And just like that...
ez Miyazaki, every place has its importance, the exhibition will adapt to each space, with an evolving scenography designed to highlight the multitude of influences of the director. Because behind the fantastic creatures and the lyrical flights lies a true patchwork of inspirations: medieval Japanese literature, forgotten mangas, European tales, and even Pokémon cards. The magic will happen this summer at the Camille Georges hall of the 2nd arrondissement town hall from June 11 to August 29, with free access from 9 AM to 4:45 PM. We're going to rediscover the work of a genius, but also to feel the pulse of an exhibition designed to awaken the imaginations of young and old alike. Because with Miyazaki, it's never “just a cartoon.”
