Gigi is now the famous little brother of La Madone, located in the Pentes. Opened five years ago, La Madone has been a huge success with its Parisian-style terrace, its little Italian spirit, and its eclectic evenings. Seeing that the first one was a success, Romain and Guillaume decided to launch in 2020 a new concept with Gigi, a tapas bar on Boulevard de la Croix-Rousse. With more than 100 terrace seats, this bar has everything to please and has given us three crazy summers.© Antoine Lebrun - Le Bonbon Lyon

"The original project was to revitalize the place, to create something local and friendly, giving it a holiday vibe with lots of plants, lilacs on the facade, and a guinguette-inspired lighting," says Romain. The decor is vintage and timeless, a mix of upcycled pieces and design references that transport us back to the 70s. The project revolves around a reinterpretation of the guinguettes of the past, with plans for future events such as food pop-ups and guest DJs to liven up the terrace or interior in the early evening."© Antoine Lebrun - Le Bonbon Lyon

"And when he arrived, the crowd exclaimed, here comes Gigi l'Amoroso...". It's a bit the same with this guinguette in Croix-Rousse. Its name is obviously inspired by Dalida's song. Romain, one of the founders, explains to us the reason why: "We listened to Dalida on repeat when we were on holiday in Italy and the name Gigi came to us immediately, it recalls the Italian side and the art of living". The art of living, and especially living well, can be found at Gigi's on the terrace and when you go down the 7 small steps that lead to the bar made of marble straight from Puglia, Italy.

Here, you can drink any type of alcohol. On the menu: 7 craft beers taps, blonde, white, amber, IPA, and seasonal. For wine, it's organic and local. And exclusively at Gigi's: cocktails, ay caramba! Gin, whiskey, rum, and more. Around ten cocktails waiting for you to sip. It's worth noting that the prices are more than tempting: half-pint and wine starting at 3.50€, Lyon pot from 13€. The same goes for tapas or toast to share between 5 and 10€. Uncle's wallet will be happy, and so will we! Get ready, this summer Gigi is getting ready to be our "date on the boulevard" once again.
