It's the story of a love at first sight. Not for a person, but for a neighborhood. When Seungwon Seong, also known as Edmond to his friends, arrives in Lyon in the summer of 2023, he falls head over heels for the slopes of Croix-Rousse, which remind him of his university neighborhood in Seoul. A few months later, in January 2025, the Seoul Social Club opens its doors just a stone's throw from the Opera, like a bridge launched between Korea and the capital of Gaul.

Artworks, books... and mouthwatering Korean specialties
In this unique café-canteen, passion fills the air: the passion for books, for art, and of course, for cooking. Between stunning street art by Myeong-Hwan Shin and some watchful Ahem Rabbits, you can indulge in a customized bibimbap featuring seasonal veggies or try out homemade galbi. Everything here is made to order, served in generous bowls filled with marinated bamboo shoots, roasted cauliflower, and twisted carrots with Padrón peppers. Let’s just say, this is miles away from airport bibimbap.

And if you're still feeling a little hungry after all that, don’t miss out on the chewy brownie, a chocolate UFO that’s somewhere between mochi and chocolate cake, wonderfully gooey and just lightly sweet. A special mention for the vegetarian and vegan desserts that prove you can indulge without a sugar overload.
