In a cozy and warm atmosphere, with its exposed stone walls, its glass roof overlooking the kitchen, its bench and its large counter, you feel right at home when you stop at Comptoir Bourguignon.
.
Born in Dijon, chef Alexis Billoux left the Burgundy region to settle in Lyon with the promise of showcasing the cuisine of his region. Here you will find plates full of flavors, made with products straight from Burgundy-Franche-Comté. And since we are in a house where freshness and seasonality are key, the menu changes very regularly.
On the menu: a lunch menu with starter, main course, and dessert for €24 with 2 starters, 2 main courses, and 2 desserts to choose from (perfect egg with lettuce cream and roasted sesame, catch of the day with caramelized onions and mustard jus, or even mirabelles compote). Are you already drooling? That's normal. In the evening, Le Comptoir Bourguignon shakes things up with a menu with starter, main course, cheese, and dessert for €34 and starter, fish, meat, cheese, and dessert for €44.
"Surprising wine menu" and a private vaulted cellar
When you think of Burgundy, you think of good wines. So the Comptoir Bourguignon offers a menu dedicated to it, 100% Burgundian, with a few exceptions. The major difference lies in the experience that chef Alexis envisioned: not a traditional wine menu per se, but a surprising experience that takes you into the heart of the restaurant: the wine cellar. Head to the back of the hallway to access this hidden room where you will find a large high table that can accommodate a small group of about ten people, surrounded by racks filled with great vintages. Here, you can choose which bottles will accompany your meal and then head back to the dining area.
