The Editor

Installed for about a month on the Croix-Rousse plateau, the second-hand bookstore Les Voraces is already becoming a new haven for curious readers and treasure hunters of beautiful stories. Here, there are no dusty piles of forgotten books in a corner: the goal is clear, to give a second life to books while embedding the bookstore in an approach that is both ecological and economical. A virtuous circle that perfectly matches the spirit of the neighborhood.

A rich offer for all readers

Novels, literature, comics, manga, youth... The shelves of Voraces celebrate diversity and eclecticism. The goal is simple: to help everyone find their next favorite without breaking the bank. And that’s just the beginning. Very soon, the bookstore aims to become a true community space, with gatherings, readings, workshops around books, and fun activities for the little ones.

Les Voraces operates on a system for buying, selling, and taking back books, designed to be simple and accessible. You can hand over your books without prior sorting for donations: the bookstore takes care of the selection. The books that are not kept will continue their journey through associations or little free libraries, ensuring they never end up collecting dust.

How does the book buyback work?

The bookstore also offers book buybacks, under certain selection conditions. The book's condition, authors, titles, and existing stock are taken into account. Pocket formats, children's literature, and comics – including mangas and comics – are particularly sought after, although other categories can also find a home.

The selection and evaluation are done directly in the store, with payment in cash, by check, or via a gift voucher. A form of identification is required for the transaction. To ensure a smooth experience, we prefer to handle pickups during the week, from Tuesday to Friday. And for those big boxes of books, just send a message with a few photos to get things started!
