The Hangar of the First Film, the Cradle of Cinema
This is where it all began, quite literally! The Hangar of the First Film is the last remnant of the old Lumière factories and, more importantly, the backdrop of the very first film in history, Workers Leaving the Lumière Factory, filmed in 1895. Now part of the Lumière Institute, this legendary place keeps the magic of cinema alive through screenings and events. It’s like a pilgrimage for film lovers, blending raw heritage and untouched emotion.

In the face of other prestigious sites like the Château de Grignan, the monuments of Lyon will need to win over the public. It's a mission that's far from impossible when you consider their importance in the history of cinema.
