Forget about stuffy museums and confusing talks about “silky tannins and subtle minerality.” Starting Thursday, March 19, Le Petit Musée du Vin will officially open its doors at 3 rue Passet, in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon, with a simple promise: to make wine accessible, fun, and lively. Housed in 120 m² of authentic historical vaulted cellars, this place breaks the mold and turns learning into a true immersive experience.

Here, you don’t need a master’s degree in oenology to understand what’s in your glass. The concept is based on a clear idea: learning while having fun. From vineyard work to fermentation, including the secrets of production, everything is explained through an interactive setup that blends digital and hands-on experiences. You touch, observe, test…and most importantly, you finally understand why a wine has that particular taste.
An immersive visit designed like a game
The museum's journey is designed as a playful exploration mission. Right from the entrance, visitors dive into the world of wine through various sensory experiences. You start by exploring the soil, handling real rocks like granite, limestone, or clay, to grasp their influence on the aromas. Then comes the chemistry of wine...

The favorite moment for both the curious and the competitors: the Wall of Scents. Here, everyone is invited to challenge their sense of smell and recognize the aromas of red fruits, spices, or wood. It's as fun as it is addictive, proving that...tasting wine is primarily about experiencing sensations. The journey continues with a unique workshop where you can learn to virtually blend your own Champagne cuvée, just like an aspiring winemaker.
A Relaxed and Uncomplicated Tasting
The highlight of the event is the educational tasting, free from pressure or jargon. Thanks to the Tasting Wall, each visitor can freely explore a selection of eight wines, ranging from classics like Morgon and Moulin-à-Vent to bolder discoveries such as natural or orange wines. The concept is super simple: you choose, you press, you taste. Whether you want a small sip or a full glass, you're in charge of your tasting adventure.

Grape bunch in the cup: each participant takes home their engraved tasting glass, a tangible keepsake of the time spent under the arches. This thoughtful detail turns the outing into a truly memorable experience, far from just a tourist stop.
