The Cat strikes a pose ! For the first time, our favorite comic cat is showing off outdoors in gigantic artworks in Lyon. Starting from October 3rd and until March 1, 2026, there will be 15 bronze statues of the Cat by Geluck, each 2.7 meters tall on display in the heart of the Tête d'Or park. Previously, the cats posed in Paris on the most beautiful avenue in the world, then in Bordeaux, Caen, Geneva... The statues are continuing their road trip and will be in Lyon for 5 months.

15 statues to admire without moderation

«  Through these twenty pieces, I hope to bring the public joy, laughter, and a touch of surreal poetry that we cherish in Belgium  », shares the artist. And what a delight it is to have our dear Belgian comic artist back home! The man of many hats is not just an illustrator; he is also a humorist, actor, columnist, and... sculptor, for over 25 years. « I first brought to life Le Chat in 1988, using clay. This clay is then molded, turned into wax, and finally bronze. »

While working on the opening of the  Cat Museum and Humor Drawing in Brussels, Geluck decided to "send his character out for a stroll" while waiting for the inauguration planned for 2027. Without wasting any time, here he is soon in the largest urban park in France for a five-month outdoor exhibition: the perfect chance to rediscover his work and see  The Cat playing the flute, dressed in a ballet tutu, while crushing a car…

To be discovered starting this October!
