One hundred years after his birth, Miles Davis continues to influence entire generations of musicians and enthusiasts. To celebrate this symbolic anniversary, the Jazz à Vienne festival is going all out with the exhibition “Miles Davis, 100 Years of Influence,” presented from June 25 to July 11 at the Vienne History Museum in the St. Peter's Church. A venue rich in history to host someone who has profoundly shaped modern music and left an indelible mark on the Viennese festival's narrative.

Rare Archives, Unseen Photos, and Vinyl Collectibles

The exhibition brings together exceptional documents that trace the incredible journey of Miles Davis. Fans will be thrilled to discover historic covers and rare articles from Jazz Magazine, the go-to reference in specialized press. Comic book lovers will also enjoy viewing the original illustrations created by Jacques Ferrandez for his illustrated biography of the trumpet legend.

The exhibition also showcases a stunning collection of vinyl records that not only chronicles Miles Davis' discography but also highlights the many artists who crossed his path. Added to that are unique photographs gathered by INA and shots taken during the legendary Jazz concerts in Vienne.

« Miles Davis, 100 Years of Influence » aims to be a true place of transmission and sharing. Every day at 2 PM, a listening salon will bring together journalists, collectors, artists, and enthusiasts to share anecdotes, memories, and analyses dedicated to the musician's work. Visitors will also have the chance to view exceptional video archives, memorable performances recorded at Jazz in Vienna, as well as a new documentary dedicated to Miles Davis, presented as a preview.
