Just 2 hours from Lyon, the Temple of a Thousand Buddhas, located in La Boulaye near Autun, is a true architectural UFO in Burgundy. Founded in 1974 by a Tibetan lama, this spiritual center named Paldenshangpa makes a stunning first impression with its Bhutan-inspired style. Three levels, monumental statues, ultra-colorful frescoes… we're definitely a world away from the usual landscapes of the region.
