If Lyon has many cocktail bars all over the city, the speakeasy trend is also popularizing to offer us intimate and secret atmospheres where we can sip drinks discreetly. And luckily, we just stumbled upon a new address well hidden in the heart of Old Lyon since September 2021. Specialized in the sale of high-end chocolate and syrup, Ambassade Bonnat & Crozet turns into a tasting cellar on certain weekday evenings and weekends.

French cocktails, vaulted cellar and period furniture

In a setting inspired by the 1930s with period furniture and large vintage advertising posters plastered on the stone vaulted walls, the house offers French cocktails made from liqueurs and alcohols from the Crozet distillery in the Rhône region as well as plates filled with delicious regional products to accompany the drinks. All this in a typical 16th century building that was once the house of the King's Prosecutor. Quite impressive, isn't it...

The secret address located at 12 rue du Boeuf, in the heart of the most star-studded street in Lyon, only opens its doors on Fridays, Saturdays, and Mondays from 7pm to midnight...with a secret password (but we'll give it to you, it's "le Clandé Bars")! On other days, the secret spot can be reserved for special occasions. A great way to impress your friends, even those who brag about knowing Lyon inside out...
