Every summer, the town of Trévoux switches its peaceful historic charm for a cloak of fire, magic, and mystery. Thanks to the local association Les Rives du Temps, this little gem of Ain is reinventing itself in a medieval epic style, and it’s safe to say it’s going to spark excitement — or rather, create sparks. Their flagship event, Les Fantastiques de Trévoux, is back this summer for an even more spectacular edition, fueled by the dazzling troupe IMAZIREN. And let’s just say it’s going to heat up.
.
Starting at 5 PM, the city buzzes with excitement as if the Middle Ages never left! You’ll encounter knights in armor, medieval dancers, herbal masters, and even coat of arms artisans. Kids will have a blast too, with creative cardboard workshops and a Playmobil exhibition that immerses them in the fun. Between hurling axes (always safely, of course!), grab a snack from one of the five food stands on site. It’s festive, immersive, and absolutely delightful!
But the highlight of the show happens after night falls. At 10 PM, get ready for the grand spectacle: a choreographed fire ballet set to music by the artists from the IMAZIREN troupe. Picture a starry sky over the Saône, sparks flying into the night, and a crowd captivated by the dancing flames. The art of fire transforms into poetry, and the city ignites with magic!
