And the award for the best cinema operator goes to Comoedia cinema ! A true institution in the 7th arrondissement of Lyon, this independent cinema has just received the prestigious Deluxe Trophy for Operator of the Year, an accolade awarded by Le Film Français, the bible of the film industry.

A well-deserved success for this Lyonnaise temple of cinema

Located on Avenue Berthelot, Comoedia has established itself as a go-to place for discerning film lovers. With its 9 screens and a capacity of 1,050 seats, it draws nearly 400,000 spectators each year. A figure that proves the loyal audience of Lyon continues to support this venue, even after the challenging times of COVID.

What makes it successful? A carefully curated program that mixes niche auteur films, renowned directors, and more accessible gems. Classified as Art and Essay, since 2006, Comoedia embraces diversity with engaged works, premieres, meetings with directors, and thematic cycles. All of this takes place in a friendly atmosphere that makes every screening a unique experience.

A dedicated team and loyal audience

While this award is a wonderful recognition for Comoedia, it is also a tribute to its team of around twenty passionate individuals, led by Ronan Frémondière and Frédérique Duperret. They want to extend a warm thank you to their employees for their professionalism and enthusiasm, as well as to their loyal audience, who always shows up.
