A movie screening facing Mont-Blanc, sounds tempting, right? This winter, The Arcs Film Festival is back for its 16th edition at the mountain peaks, from December 14 to 21. On the agenda: exclusive premieres, a program specially dedicated to young audiences, special sessions, and of course, an official competition featuring around twenty European films. All this in a warm atmosphere at the heart of the Alps, where screenings, concerts, and unforgettable meetings with today's and tomorrow's cinema talents come together.
A rich and diverse program open to everyone
This year again, the programming of the Arcs Film Festival stands out for its diversity and accessibility. At the heart of the festival, the official competition brings together 8 feature films from all over Europe, competing for the prestigious Crystal Arrow, along with 14 short films.

Audiences will also have the chance to see exclusive previews of French films such as L’Attachement by Carine Tardieu or Par Amour by Élise Otzenberger, in the presence of the teams.
Movie snippets for unforgettable exchanges after each screening. Comedy, thriller, romance, fantasy, and melodrama—there's something for everyone! Films out of competition, gathered in the "Playtime" section, will also be screened to let festival-goers escape, featuring romantic comedies, immersive thrillers, and even fantastic works like Sister Midnight by Karan Kandhari or Bird by Andrea Arnold.This rich lineup is complemented by a selection of daring films competing for the UniversCiné Heart Prize, the "Hauteur" section, perfect for cinephiles seeking original discoveries. For an immersion into the prestigious world of the Oscars, a special selection will bring together European films in the running for the Best International Feature Oscar. The festival also caters to the younger crowd with a youth program...c;lant projections, animations, and workshops to spark their artistic curiosity. Finally, special sessions will complete the offering with unclassifiable films, providing viewers with beautiful moments of surprise and emotion. In short, a rich programming available at an accessible price: 7.50€ per session or 4.50€ for reduced fare and 34€ for the cinema pass to access all projections.
Focus on Iceland
Every year, the festival highlights an invited country. After the Netherlands in 2023, it is Iceland that will take the spotlight this winter, with a series of screenings that will immerse viewers in the breathtaking landscapes and cinematic culture of Iceland. Between spectacular landscapes and unique stories, both fiction and documentary, the Land of Fire and Ice reveals to us the full extent of its talent.

Woman at War by Benedikt Erlingsson portrays Halla, a woman in her fifties with a vibrant ecological spirit, who decides to wage war against the local aluminum industry. A joyful and decidedly feminist saga released in 2018. In a different vein, Rams by Grímur Hákonarson takes us to a remote valley in Iceland where two brothers, who haven't spoken to each other in forty years, must come together to save their sheep.

The Arcs Film Festival is certainly about cinema, but also about music! Over the last editions, the festival has welcomed the cream of the crop from the French music scene: La Femme, Jain, L’Impératrice, Voyou, Zaho de Sagazan, and even Vitalic!

This year, the music scene promises some fantastic surprises, especially with award-winning Uzi Freyja, who will rock the stage with her blend of hip-hop and punk.
