We all know the fauna that lives in the Lille Citadel Zoo. But do you really know all the creatures that roam around Lille without us knowing? And believe us, they are not just limited to simple city pigeons and rats. The latest news tells us that a lovely little family of red pandas has made their nest right in the heart of the city center... at Rihour!
Red Panda in Lille
A kind of even cuter raccoon, more beautiful, more silky (and incidentally not rummaging through trash cans), the red panda is originally from the Himalayan forests, between Nepal, India, Bhutan, China, Tibet and Burma. You might rightly ask us: what are they doing right in the middle of Lille? The answer is simple: red pandas were introduced to Lille, specifically to the Citadel Zoo.
Living the good life close to the Lillois
For the past few months, these little sweethearts have been missing from the Lille Zoo, and especially at Rihour. With their playful and curious nature, red pandas have quickly become a favorite among locals and tourists alike. Their presence adds an unexpected touch of wildlife charm to the bustling city streets, making them a delightful mystery waiting to be discovered by those who know where to look.
The call of the zoo. In reality, the little bamboo enthusiasts have packed up their things and settled down, in freedom (because it's just a tad more fun), at Rihour, between the metro station, the bus stop, and the Rihour Palace. Here, they have started their little family, in peace. Keep an eye out: if they're not too shy, they might even wave at you!P.S.: Before concluding, have you checked the date today? Always keep a bit of skepticism... because, as tradition has it, April 1st is often synonymous with mischief, and at Le Bonbon, we love jokes. Don't be too disappointed, our pranks have sometimes come true in the past... You never know.
