Ambre & Gabriel, the stars of cradles
In 2024, it's official: Ambre for girls and Gabriel for boys are taking over the regional podium. These names are sweet, timeless, and continue to charm young parents in the North.
And that's not all: rising trends are also making their mark. Elio has skyrocketed (+145% in 5 years), just like Olivia (+79%). Short, modern names, sometimes from afar, show that there's a desire for freshness (and originality) in the playgrounds.
The fall of the 2000s idols
On the other hand, some names that were all the rage ten years ago are gradually fading away. Manon has plummeted by 86% since 2010, and Enzo by 82%. The same fate awaits Clara, Nathan, Baptiste, and Alexandre. Names that once defined a generation are struggling to attract new parents.

A very French name, but not just that
Across the rest of France, trends are confirming: Louise, Jade, Alba, and Emma are still leading the girls' ranking, while Raphaël, Louis, Léo, and Noah keep Gabriel company on the boys' side. A lovely mix of classic, international names with a bit of retro vibes that continue to charm.
So, would you rather be Ambre or Olivia?
The YourSurprise study also reminds us that searches for "baby name" have jumped by 35% in just a year. It shows that choosing a name is still quite a puzzle, balancing tradition, originality, and the trends of the moment.
