Le Georges V (Boulevard de la Liberté): the must-try hidden welsh in a tobacco shop

It's no surprise to almost anyone: Georges V would obviously be on top of this list (even though it was close). For years, this unassuming tobacco shop has been serving up the best welsh dishes in Lille in the evening for an unbeatable price. However, we're going to temper our words a bit because, over the past few months, Georges V has changed ownership. Nevertheless, the new chef has made it his mission to uphold the myth of the welsh dish, and the gamble seems to have paid off as you are still VERY many to praise it. Just one comment to make: if you hope to taste this dish, make sure to arrive early because the place tends to fill up quickly!

Sweetie, make sure to book well in advance. Yes, at this tobacco bar, we make reservations! Long live Georges V! 🎉

La Brocantine in Cysoing: the flea market where you can eat a welsh

Head to Cysoing to discover La Brocantine and its dual identity. Here, you can browse the flea market while enjoying a meal in the canteen. With no set menu, the dishes vary depending on seasonal products and the chef's inspiration. But mainly, you'll be tasting dishes from the North of France. It's no surprise that the welsh is a real delight here.could have taken the first place in the top. Some argue vehemently: it's THE best welsh in the area... Attention all fans! 🧀🍞🔝

La Petite Table (rue de la Monnaie) : an essential pub for the people of Lille

Perhaps one of the best pubs in Lille. An essential part of Lille life that delights both tourists and locals alike. Here, the welsh doesn't need to prove itself anymore and many of you mentioned it without hesitation. A charming setting, a super caring and friendly team...Everything is done to have a great time. If you can try all the regional specialties, we recommend the famous Welsh! 🧀👌🏼 #delicious #foodie 🍽✨🎉 #yum #enjoy #tasty

Un R de Famille (in Marquette): the family-friendly and cheerful estaminet of the MEL

This estaminet, located just 2 steps from Lille, was highly praised in the comments of the post! According to insiders, you can find the best Welsh rarebit in the Lille metropolis here! They offer a generous, homemade family cuisine. The Welsh rarebit is specially prepared to serve you the best.In a fun way. Bonus points for the very neat vintage dishes that contrast with the "fat" side of the Welsh rarebit. It's like transforming it into a gourmet dish. In the kitchen, a father and his son welcoming you like at home. "Them, the father and the son: Didier & Justin (Juju for the close ones). They are the ones who will prepare the delicious meal that will make you regret asking for an extra piece of bread that will end up on the side of your plate and will make you have a good time as if you were at home."

Chtite Brigitte (rue des Bouchers): the new cozy restaurant that is taking Vieux-Lille by storm

Not even a year since this cozy restaurant opened and already its welsh dish is causing a sensation! And for good reason, here it is made with Wissant cheese and not cheddar (they even have a vegetarian version). It is served with a bowl (yes, a bowl) of fries that are to die for. After tasting it ourselves, we would have put it in this top list without hesitation. One piece of advice, don't eat for at least 24 hours before going there because EVERYTHING is delicious and tempting, so if you plan on having a hearty starter + a welsh dish with its bowl of fries + a always delicious dessert, you will only be able to leave by rolling out! Bonus point for the cozy atmosphere. Truly one of the best spots in Vieux-Lille!
