We've been waiting for it for we don't even know how long: May 19th is tomorrow! This date, highlighted in red in our agenda, is already promising to be memorable! The long-awaited reopening of bars, cinemas, museums, restaurants (and more) must be celebrated properly. And what better way than a night out with friends at a riverside guinguette? 1. Kok Piraat A real barge moored in Lille, across from Euratechnologies, Kok Piraat is the perfect place to spend an unforgettable and friendly moment. Its restaurant takes us on a culinary journey like no other. Guaranteed change of scenery. Here, only fresh products are cooked, with an evolving menu renewed monthly, according to the chef's desires. Chic yet chill ambiance, enjoy a cocktail with a view of the water. On the menu, beer as we like it and mouthwatering recipes. We love the sweet-savory mix of camembert with honey and nuts! YUM!

The extra touch: their spiced rums are a must-try. Don't leave without tasting them!

2. La guinguette de la Marine

Hidden between Jardin Vauban and Lille Zoo, you'll find it by following the barges along the Deûle River. With its warm and cozy atmosphere adorned with lanterns and accordions, this guinguette is the perfect spot for a lively evening with friends or a family meal. Enjoy the delicious traditional French cuisine with choices like their famous escargots, foie gras, or crispy camembert (how more French can you get?!)

The extra touch: for those who get seasick (or for those who overindulge in drinks), this guinguette has the advantage of being on solid ground, unlike many others.

3. L'Amusette

This one should arrive in Wambrechies on June 12. It will replace the extravagant accommodations of the Deûle insolite. Byebye yurt, container, and trailers, only the iconic double-decker red English bus remains. But don't worry, this relic will serve as the base for this brand new guinguette. And it promises a lot! On the agenda: alcohol (yesss), but also food trucks for the foodies, and especially mölkky and petanque fields for the Sunday athletes. Vacation atmosphere guaranteed! The only downside: ephemeral, this new guinguette will only be there for 3 months (so until September 12 if our calculations are correct).

The extra touch: even though we love the outdoors, the weather in the North is known to be unpredictable. For this reason, Julie and Stéphane (the owners) have already set up a large tent in case it rains. A small detail that is important.

4. Quai Wattrelos

Roubaix is joining in too! After a call for applications earlier this year, the city offered two possible sites to set up a guinguette. It was finally the Quai de Wattrelos that won the contest. Not surprising, with its beautiful trees and 4,800 m2 of land, it's the perfect place for this type of establishment. But be patient, you'll have to wait until June 15 to enjoy this summer atmosphere.

The extra touch: the Pile au RDV festival at La Condition Publique from July 2 to July 11 will be right across the street!

5. La guinguette

The Madeleine terrace

Already installed last year, it's coming back from June 3rd, even better! Ultra festive, it promises to be THE place to have a good time and celebrate the end of restrictions properly. Let's hurry to join the country or singing club and we're already drooling at the thought of devouring the delicious brunches prepared by Michelin-starred chefs (yes, we only think about eating)!

The extra touch: entry is free, so you can save money for drinks!
