As you may know, this weekend marked the very first World French Fry Championship. An international event that gathered all the food lovers near the Grand Place of Arras where the competition took place. And the winner happens to be... a person from Lille!

Yes, the Mestré fry shop on Gambetta Street is going to attract a boom of new customers! Its owner and chef Aurèle Mestré has just been crowned world champion of fries! A stroke of luck for this young Lille resident who opened his fry shop only a year ago and is giving tough competition to the Meunier fry shops. Aurèle Mestré was recognized for being the best in the category of "authentic fries".

As for the Mestré fry shop, you can find it in the Gambetta neighborhood. Their motto (and that's precisely why they're the best): offering the most authentic fry shop to the people of Lille. And they've succeeded!🍟🎉
