41 Medals for Our Regional Breweries

When it comes to beer, Hauts-de-France certainly knows how to make some noise! This year, the World Beer Awards (also known as the Olympics of foam) have put our brewers on the global podium with a fantastic total of 41 medals: 9 gold, 8 silver, and 24 bronze. Not too shabby for a region that breathes beer as much as fries!

IPA, farmhouse ales, and whites: a lineup that shines

On the IPA side, the Pyrite IPA from Marquette-lez-Lille snagged gold, closely followed by Castelain and Goudale. Brique House confirmed its status as a local star with La Bagarre winning gold in the double IPA category. La Chromatique, a rising brewery in Lille, made a splash with its Nuke Mars, crowned the best New England IPA in the world. And let’s not forget the Ch’ti Blonde (Castelain), which scored gold for farmhouse ales, and the Page 24 Blanche, a star among witbiers. In short, it's impressive!

Lille and its metropolitan area, true brewing HQs

From Villeneuve-d'Ascq to Merville, passing through Arques, our breweries shine, but we can’t ignore the central role of Lille, where microbreweries and spots celebrating craft beer are thriving. Chromatique, Brique House, Brasserie Lilloise… our local favorites are now known all around the world.

A true local pride

These awards confirm what people from Lille already know: around here, beer is more than just a drink you casually order at the bar corner: it's a culture, a craft, and above all, a tremendous pride. The next time you raise a glass in a bar in Vieux-Lille, remember that you are probably holding a medal-winning beer. Cheers!
