Located at 18 rue d’Amiens, just a stone's throw from rue de Béthune and Grand’Place, Raptor Shack was a well-known spot for burger lovers in Lille. The establishment announced its closure on social media on Saturday, March 7, 2026, marking the end of over a decade of activity. In their message, the managers mentioned the economic climate and an increasingly deserted city center as reasons for this difficult decision.

A beloved address for burger enthusiasts

Opened in 2014, Raptor Shack quickly carved out its niche in Lille's food scene. The concept was simple: homemade, generous, and accessible burgers, served in a small downtown restaurant. Over the years, the place welcomed tourists, students, local workers, and regulars shopping in the city. The popularity of the venue saw...

It was also confirmed during the Lille Burger World Cup held in 2018, where the restaurant earned the bronze medal thanks to the votes from the people of Lille.

According to the co-manager, the location that used to be the restaurant's strength (right next to the bustling shopping streets) has become more challenging to operate over time. Several break-ins at the end of 2025 and a rent increase of about €1,200 per month since opening have also weighed heavily on their decision.

A closure that fits into a trend

The disappearance of Raptor Shack comes at a time when several locations in downtown Lille have recently closed their doors. In recent months, several restaurants and shops have shut down, fueling conversations about the evolution of the city center and commercial traffic. In a heartfelt message, the restaurant team wanted to thank their loyal customers, partners, and employees for these twelve wonderful years spent in the kitchen.

Maybe a return someday?

Despite the closure, the managers prefer to keep a note of hope. They mention the possibility of the pos...the possibility of bringing Raptor Shack back one day, if the economic conditions become more favorable. In the meantime, many people from Lille will surely remember their homemade burgers and quick breaks on rue d’Amiens.
