La Louche d'Or 2025: the largest dining hall in the world is in Lille

For 25 years, La Louche d’Or has made its joyful return to Wazemmes celebrating pots and flavors from around the world. Organized by the Attacafa association and local residents, this delightful fest has become one of the highlight events of May 1st in Lille. The idea is simple: Everyone can come and taste their homemade soup, test their neighbors' soup and, why not, leave with the famous Golden Ladle. All of this in a festive atmosphere filled with concerts, quirky activities, and lots and lots of good cheer.

This year, the event is getting even bigger! The pots will open at 2 PM (you need to register for the contest before noon), and a brand new area completely dedicated to children, Le P’tit Bouillon, will be set up at Square Ghesquièr. Expect: mini soup contests, shows, creative workshops, and even a soup garden so that the little ones can also have their moment of glory.

Giant soup, crazy concerts, and a giant pot

Beyond the bubbling soups on every sidewalk, the Louche d’Or 2025 is pulling out all the stops for concerts. You can expect to see artists like Mitsune with their Japanese neo-folk, the electrifying ethio-trance group Kutu, the multicultural brass band La Chiva Gantiva, and let’s not forget the creation “Aïta Mon Amour” that brings Moroccan poetry to life. Add to that a blank canvas given to Messiê Forró to make everyone dance in the square of Oujda with a Brazilian carnival flair, and you’ve got a true musical melting pot in action.

On the collective cooking side, get ready to peel, chop, and stir: Disco Soupe is back with a giant pot of 250 liters made from rescued organic surplus from Vert’Tige and Mes Voisins Producteurs. It’s a fantastic anti-waste gesture to enjoy right on the steps of Maison Folie.

An even more eco-friendly festival

At La Louche d'Or, we whip up delicious soups... and great ideas for the planet. Composting green waste, thorough recycling, collecting corks for France Cancer, bike parking, and a Green Team ready to guide you to keep your visit as clean as it is festive. Not to mention the sale of solidarity bowls benefiting Abej Solidarité, so you can enjoy your soup with a light heart.

In short, you know where to find yourself this May 1st: in Wazemmes, with a spoon in one hand and your best smile in the other.
