The shop windows of Old Lille are losing another well-known address. This Monday, August 3rd, Jaqk has definitively closed its doors. Present in Lille since 2013, the northern men's ready-to-wear brand ultimately didn't wait until the end of summer to leave Place des Patiniers for good, where it had settled in 2025.
Thirteen years of presence in Lille
Before moving to Place des Patiniers, the brand had already left its mark on several generations of customers through the Rue de la Monnaie, then Rue des Chats-Bossus. Over the years, Jaqk established itself as a beloved address for lovers of men's clothing with carefully tailored cuts, with its own distinct identity. Founded fifteen years ago in the North, the brand actually drew its name from the world of poker : Jack, Ace, Queen and King, the four cards that make up its identity. Behind its collections of shirts, polos, chinos and jackets, it also championed a production primarily carried out
in nearby workshops, with certified materials and limited series to avoid unsold stock.View this post on Instagram
Bankruptcy despite several months of efforts
On June 16th, the company officially announced its liquidation, explaining that they had tried everything to keep the business going. In a message posted on their website, the team wrote: <"After 15 years of adventure, we're letting you know that our company has been placed in judicial liquidation. Despite all the efforts we've made in recent months to continue our activities, we unfortunately didn't find the solution that would have allowed Jaqk to continue its story." At the time, the Lille and Le Touquet boutiques were still supposed to stay open until the end of summer to clear out the last collections. Ultimately, the Lille store closed its doors several weeks early.
"We're leaving with our heads full of memories"
To say goodbye to its customers, the team posted one last message on Instagram, filled with emotion: "We're putting away the hangers, turning off the lights, but most of all, we're leaving with our heads full of memories. Thank you, dear customers, for your loyalty, your cheerfulness, and this wonderful adventure we shared." The question now remains: which store will take over this location on Place des Patiniers, in the heart of Old Lille. One thing's for sure: for many loyal customers, it's an address that will leave its markwould display a few memories behind its storefront.
