These past two weeks have been kind to us. Warmer temperatures, a few sunny days despite a light drizzle that would whip your face as you went to work... All to make us dream of the arrival of spring, which is not too far away. And yet: forget about the little denim jacket waiting for you patiently in the closet and bring out the puffer coat because the beautiful days of February are coming to an end. In Lille, the weather will become a bit more unstable, windy and, above all, cooler starting this Wednesday, February 21st. From wind (lots of wind), rain, and thunderstorms in Lille Starting today, as you may have guessed, the weather is turning bad in Lille. According to the Meteo Chain, we will have rain all day long with gusts reaching up to 60km/h. Thursday will be a bit more intense with even stronger gusts (85km/h) and some thunderstorms to top it all off.

We forgot to check the UV index, but between us, we'll be able to wait a while before trading our grayish complexion for a nice spring tan.

A "atmospheric river" crosses France

In its latest bulletin of the week published on Monday, February 19, Météo France talks about an "atmospheric river". A disturbance fueled by tropical air (and therefore very humid), which starts its journey in the Northwest of France and crosses the entire country during the week. So, expect strong winds, heavy rainfall, and a slight drop in temperatures that will once again go below 10°C.

Showers resembling April showers and temperatures staying close to seasonal averages. Nothing surprising for February, even though we were starting to appreciate this mild winter. Good news for skiers: snowfall is expected starting at 1000 meters above sea level. Time to hit the slopes with full force!
