Each year, this event is a fantastic excuse to slow down a bit and rediscover the green spots we sometimes pass by without really noticing. From Friday, June 5 to Sunday, June 7, the Rendez-vous aux gardens will take over the parks, gardens, and green spaces of Lille for three days of free activities celebrating the city's botanical heritage. And this year, the chosen theme is rather inspiring: the view.

Three Days to Explore the Greenest Side of Lille

Created to highlight the gardens and landscape heritage, the Rendez-vous aux jardins allow you to discover Lille from a different perspective. The idea? Open up lesser-known places, offer unique tours, and invite residents to take the time to observe what’s growing right next to their homes. The program looks especially rich, with activities spread across several gardens and parks in the city.

An urban farm usually closed to the public

Among the highlights of this edition, we spotted a visit to the Jardins du Faubourg. In this area often associated with its tall apartment blocks, there’s actually a surprisingly rich plant heritage hidden away. The icing on the cake: the Concorde Urban Farm will exceptionally open its doors at the end of the visit. This is quite a rare chance to discover this space that’s usually off-limits to the general public.

Workshops that break away from the usual visits

Fans of more original experiences will also find joy here. An aromatic visit to the Pouponnière garden will allow you to explore the place through scents, sounds, and textures. On its end, the workshop "Top Chef: create your own syrup" will invite you to become an apprentice mixologist, imagining your own recipe made with plants and herbs. There's also an immersive sound journey in the Vauban garden, with headphones on, to really dive deep into the experience.covering the paths and perspectives of the park in a completely different way.

Drawing and photographing nature in a new way

On Sundays, several activities invite you to take a step back and enjoy the urban landscape. A drawn walk at La Courtine will offer the chance to observe Lille from some unexpected viewpoints, between Euralille and the Mama Shelter. Perfect for filling a few pages in your sketchbook. Enthusiasts...Those interested in photography can take part in an introduction to wildlife photography alongside professionals, learning how to capture wildlife, plants, and the little details that often go unnoticed. With hidden gardens, creative workshops, and unusual visits, there's plenty to keep you busy over the weekend.
