When we think of an enchanting getaway, we often picture long flights and a hefty budget. This time, we’re heading to Belgium! Since February 2026, the wildlife park Pairi Daiza has welcomed a brand-new space called Edenya. It's a colossal project that just achieved a world record, and it’s not far from the Lille metropolitan area.
A World Record Just an Hour from Lille
With its four-hectare greenhouse, Edenya goes beyond a simple greenhouse. Today, it is the largest tropical greenhouse in the world, as well as the biggest covered zoological system, according to the Guinness World Records. Behind this project, are several years of construction and an investment estimated at 215 million euros. The result: an immersive ecosystem designed as a true world of its own, where nature, animals, and stunning décor coexist under one roof.

A Total Immersion in Jungle, Beach, and Waterfall
Temperature rising, lush vegetation, sounds of water... the immersion is complete. We move from a dense jungle to a dry forest, then to a sun-drenched beach, all with stunning fluidity. Along the way, there's never a dull moment. We encounter jaguars (able to swim and possessing the most powerful bite among felines) as well as manatees, lemurs, fennecs, and even Komodo dragons. On the vegetation side, Edenya is equally impressive with nearly 1,800 plant species, some of which are particularly rare, and more than 5,000 cacti and euphorbias. It's a true concentration of biodiversity right in the heart of Europe.

Butterflies, fossils, and artworks: a surprising decor
What stands out as well is the attention to detail. As you explore, you’ll discover an impressive collection of minerals, fossils, and ancient sculptures, especially from Latin America. Another remarkable moment: one of the largest spaces dedicated to butterflies in Europe, where they flutter freely around visitors. It’s the kind of experience that delights both children and adults alike.
Dining among fish or beneath the palm trees
Edenya doesn’t stop at just strolling. On-site, several dining areas allow you to extend the experience. The most spectacular is undoubtedly The Abyss, a unique underwater restaurant in Europe. While you eat, manatees, sharks, and fish swim around you in an almost surreal setting. For a more relaxed vibe, head to Sandy Beach, where you can enjoy lunch under the palm trees in a bright and cheerful atmosphere.

An experience designed to amaze… and raise awareness
Beyond its spectacular side, Pairi Daiza also aims for a broader goal: species preservation. Several conservation programs are underway, particularly for the jaguar, manatees, and the Komodo dragon. A reminder that these spaces, no matter how impressive,
tells a story about a reality: that of a biodiversity to protect. Address: HVPR+WH, 7940 Brugelette, Belgium
