Lille, the 6th most dangerous city in France outside of the Paris region In 2020, 1099 people (known) were victims of violence or theft on the Ilévia network in Lille, which equates to nearly 5 victims per 1,000 inhabitants. This is definitely a number to consider, but also to put into perspective. The top spot goes to the capital city. The Parisian network is the most anxiety-inducing in France. In 2020, no less than 54,856 people were victims of violence or theft on public transportation, which equates to 25 victims per 1,000 inhabitants. An astonishing figure. Seine-Saint-Denis takes the second spot in the rankings followed by Lyon, Montpellier, Grenoble.e, Bordeaux, and Nantes..

Decreasing numbers just like attendance

In reality, these numbers have decreased in all cities in the ranking compared to 2019 with  -25% for Lille, -29% for Paris and -18% in Seine-Saint-Denis. The reason? The decline in attendance due to various lockdowns and remote work. The study by the Ministry also reveals that 74% of the perpetrators were between 13 and 29 years old.
