A necessary return in the face of student urgency

The observation is clear and quite alarming: 20% of students do not eat enough and skip an average of 3.5 meals per week. While 41% have to work alongside their studies, the majority still receive no help from CROUS. Meanwhile, the long-awaited reform of student grants is (yet again) postponed until the start of the 2026 academic year. In attention...endant? It's all about resourcefulness and solidarity.

The Ch'ti Student Basket: a real helping hand in Lille

In light of this situation, GALILLÉ (Group of Lille Student Associations) is taking action by organizing a big free food distribution this Friday, April 25th, from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Student House in Villeneuve d’Ascq. The idea? To support young people in tough situations and give them a real, tangible boost by distributing free food and hygiene products. Because you can’t succeed in your studies on an empty stomach.

"Reform Our Scholarships": a national mobilization

🎓 And because a small basket doesn’t solve everything (no matter how full it is), this distribution is also part of a national movement led by FAGE with the campaign "Reform Our Scholarships". The idea? Spread the message, calmly but confidently: student precariousness shouldn't be the norm.

On-site, you'll be able to chat with volunteers, meet other students, and put a face to a reality that's often well-hidden. A wonderful way to lend a hand, but also to raise a collective voice that deserves to be heard (and not in three years).
