Lille dethrones everyone (even Strasbourg)

But this time, it’s Lille taking the top spot, far ahead of all the others. With +881% searches in just one month, the capital of Flanders has become the Christmas destination everyone wants to see.
Located in Place Rihour, the Lille Christmas Market attracts nearly a million visitors every year, but this season, the spotlight seems to shine even brighter. People come for the atmosphere, the Ferris wheel, the lights, the treats, the gifts… and especially that warm northern hospitality that no one can replicate.

Why Does Lille Delight So Much This Year?
Because the Lille market has this special magic: it’s big, but never impersonal.
It’s bright, but never tacky. It’s popular, but never overdone. Perfect for a stroll after work, to sip hot wine with friends, to fall in love with a handmade item, to completely escape the grayness of November. And every year, the charm works its magic: but in 2025, the excitement seems contagious.
Behind Lille, Arras and Metz Complete the Podium
In second place, Arras is also causing a stir in searches (+827%). Its Grand’Place transformed into a postcard scene, its gentle atmosphere, its covered ice rink… another gem from the North that the French have definitely noticed.
Right after, Metz comes in third (+542%), with its markets spread across several squares, its giant Christmas pyramid, its treats, and its Saint Nicholas parade that enchants the whole city.
