Sunshine, Warm Degrees, and a Touch of Thunderstorm
This Monday, May 12th, you can lounge on the terrace in a T-shirt — as long as you steer clear of the (likely) thunderstorms expected in the afternoon. The North is actually under a yellow alert, so there's no need to pull out the checkered tablecloth just yet. Tuesday looks much calmer: big blue sky and temperatures reaching 24°C. After that, the weather stays pleasant all week, with highs between 20 and 23°C until Saturday. We’ll take it!

Good news… or maybe not so much
Seeing Lille on the podium of the hottest cities in France is quite a rarity. But it's also a sign of a weather shift due to storms in the Southwest and, more broadly, the climate imbalances we've faced in recent years. So let's enjoy it, but let's not forget that these unexpected records tell another story too.
The chance to go out (a little)
That being said, it would be a shame to miss out on these sunny days. A stroll along the Deûle, outdoor terraces open from noon, extended happy hours, or a picnic in the park: it’s time to celebrate the sun the right way! And if you’re looking for some terrace ideas or walks in Lille & surrounding areas this week, you know we have plenty of great tips for you.
