The Editor

The night of the campus is back, but this time it embraces everything: glitter, vinyls, pinball machines, and legendary lookalikes. On March 28, the Creative Campus of the Université Catholique de Lille will transform into a giant Vintage Festival, imagined and brought to life by hundreds of students. If you've already seen their sold-out musical comedies, you know they mean business!

The Catho from the 20s to the 80s

That evening, the iconic building of the Catho de Lille will be a whole new experience. The Atrium will host a roller disco with skate rentals and professional demos. The Aula Maxima will turn into a genuine retro disco filled with hundreds of dancers. Meanwhile, the Chapel will light up for candlelit concerts, featuring piano-vocal performances and continuous vintage remixes.

In the hallways, you'll find thrift shops and creative makers...vintage, participatory workshops (vinyl engraving, drawn creations…), a retrogaming room with arcade machines and pinball, exhibitions of painting, photography, ceramics, or sewing. All of this in an ambiance that travels from the 1920s to the late 1980s.

And because we’re in Lille, we don’t do things halfway: Johnny Hallyday, Édith Piaf, and Dalida look-alikes are coming in for live shows, student concerts will take over, and sound & light performances are even making their way outside the campus. Add to that an exhibition of vintage cars and parades showcasing student and professional creations, and you have an evening that smells like hairspray, leather, and vinyl.

700 students in charge

What makes this event even crazier? Nearly 700 students are involved in organizing, set design, music, and performances. It’s a festival created from scratch by Lille’s new creative generation, held in one of the city’s most emblematic buildings. We’re talking a format for between 2,000 and 3,000 people, so if you want to see the Catho like you’ve never seen it before, it’s best not to wait!
