A Living Mural Created by a Whole Community
For the past two years, over 300 participants (students, teachers, retirees, and residents from the region) have been working on this monumental project to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Catholic University of Lille. Costumes, decorations, music, and organization — everything has been thoughtfully crafted at home. To take the experience to the level of major shows, a team of actors from Puy du Fou came to train the volunteers in immersive staging. It promises to be a grand spectacle.
When the Aula Maxima Turns Into a Time Machine
On stage, 33 scenes tell the story of 150 years, from 1875 to the present day. The audience is swept away into a tapestry where rain, wind, smoke, and projections come together. No need for Hollywood special effects: the Aula Maxima literally becomes a time capsule. And all of this is brought to life by performers aged 6 to 88 in period and contemporary costumes.
A show & a collective experience
Behind the magic, there's also an educational aspect: students composed original music, reworked pieces, created costumes, and worked hard on logistics. The result: a unique experience of sharing and creativity that helps participants grow while the audience resonates with it.
