A highly anticipated comeback for one of Lille's favorite spots
Since the closure in September, the people of Lille have been watching every update as eagerly as waiting for the next episode of their favorite show: impatient, a little frustrated, and also a bit nostalgic.
Because St-So, beyond being a bar, is a cultural haven, a meeting space, a place where everyone has at least one story to share. The great news just came in: the Bistrot will reopen on December 3rd, with a solid lineup and a team that many already know.

Bunker Paillettes is taking the reins (and that should reassure quite a few people)
After a speedy process led by the City, it’s finally the company Bunker Paillettes that has been selected from 16 applications. A familiar name: the team already managed the Bistrot… for eleven years, before the previous operator came in. For some, it’s going to feel like coming back home.
The City is entrusting them with the venue for one year, from December 1, 2025, to November 30, 2026, with a clear goal: to bring life back to one of Lille’s most friendly spots, while respecting the values that made it successful.
A fresh concept: culture, friendliness, and accessibility
The selected project focuses on: a space accessible to families and children, a program open to everyone, a strong commitment to short supply chains, seasonal products, and social inclusion. The venue aims to become a true space for cultural experimentation.
urelle. You'll find concerts, DJ sets, workshops, meet-ups, activities for young audiences… and that joyful atmosphere that makes Saint-So remain Saint-So.Evening dining kicks off right at opening, and lunch service will return in February : it’s all about easing back into a groove little by little, while keeping the spirit of the place alive.
A reopening that comes after several eventful weeks
The closure of the previous operator, SAS Hirondelle, led to a sudden halt in activities and a real gap in the programming at the Saint-Sauveur station. This topic sparked debate in the municipal council, with some lamenting the interruption of service or the shift to four paid events a month.
But one thing is for sure : from the public's side, the desire to reconnect with St-So is as strong as ever, and the planned programming should quickly bring the venue back to its original energy.

St-So, always that hybrid place Lille loves
What makes the Bistrot so special is its rare mix: a spot where you can have a drink, listen to a concert, meet families, attend a conference, all in an old railway site that breathes freedom. The reopening is not just a change in management but truly the return of a symbol. It’s the kind of place you really miss when it’s gone.
