DIY workshops for kids, why not? Behind this great initiative is a collaboration between the Accor group and Leroy Merlin. The idea: set up workshops in the cozy atmosphere of ibis Styles hotels with Leroy Merlin experts, and offer young DIYers the chance to unleash their creativity while learning the basics of DIY. Parents can give their children an educational, creative, and entertaining experience that can benefit them for a lifetime!
Each workshop, lasting 2 hours, will take place every Saturday afternoon starting from February 17th from 3pm to 5pm. The session will begin with a delicious and balanced snack, allowing the children to get to know each other before diving into the workshop of the day, led by Leroy Merlin or Opening stage.
And there's something for everyone! Your child will learn about measuring, assembling, painting, and sticking... Each step introduces tools like a drill, a measuring tape, or a saw.
Let's have fun! No need to panic, the workshops are supervised and each child is safely guided through the technical gestures by the facilitator. At the end of the workshop, the children will of course leave with their completed creations!Workshop Schedule
Workshops led by Leroy Merlin
Wooden Light Frame
• Date: February 17th
• Description: Making a wooden light frame. The child will handle the tools and materials of a DIYer while developing their creativity with the help of the facilitator.
Customized Gruyère Game
• Date: March 9th
• Description: Tool manipulation to create a customized Gruyère game. The instructor will guide the child in personalizing their object. The game involves avoiding the famous holes in this popular cheese and reaching the top of the course with their ball.
Insect Hotel
• Date : 6th April
• Description : Creating an object that provides a home for insects in the garden, promoting biodiversity.
Fun Workshops by Opening Stage
Balsa Checkers Game
• Dates: February 24th, March 23rd, April 20th
• Description: Kids will create a checkers game out of balsa wood. They will draw the squares of the board, paint them, and decorate their 24 game pieces.
Metal and Gold Mobile
• Dates: March 2, March 30, April 27
• Description: Create a decorative mobile using metal repousse technique. Participants will learn the art of metal repousse and make their own decorative mobile.
Cork Reminder Board
• Date: March 16, April 13, and May 04
• Description: Participants will customize their cork board with fabric, paint, and other materials to create their own personalized reminder board.
How to participate
Reservations are made online, and each workshop is priced at 25€, including the workshop itself and a snack. A unique opportunity for children to develop their DIY skills, explore their creativity, and share friendly moments in a warm and welcoming environment. Parents can also dine on site, with a gourmet coffee time (5€).
Requirements: The minimum age is 6 years old. We ask that accompanying adults remain present in the hotel during the workshop. An open coworking space and a gourmet tea coffee time (5€ to be paid on site) will allow you to have a great time as well!
