On the agenda: an afternoon filled with live music, improvisations, Mediterranean stories, and strolls in one of the most peaceful spots in the city.
A musical immersion in the heart of the Fig Tree Garden
Head to Mosaïc, the garden of cultures in Houplin-Ancoisne, this Sunday, May 17. Between 2 PM and 6 PM, several events will fill the afternoon in a setting that definitely has a vacation vibe. At the Fig Tree Garden, the company Les Toupies invites visitors to explore and play with a whole range of instruments: darbukas, kalimbas, tambourines, shakers, acoustic guitar… The idea? To improvise together around Arab-Andalusian rhythms and Gnawa blues. It’s a pretty rare, ultra-sensory experience where both kids and adults can join in!

A concert between traditions and trance
At 3 PM, it’s time for the Fakir trio, enriched by Eastern, Mediterranean, and contemporary influences. With violin, saz, guitar, and double bass… the musicians blend styles to create an almost hypnotic atmosphere. Between Eastern melodies, modern grooves, and traditional inspirations, the concert promises a true sonic journey.
Stories that smell of the Mediterranean
Then at 4:30 PM and 5:30 PM, the ambiance shifts with the La Vache bleue company, who will take visitors on a journey through tales from Greece and Italy. Funny stories, wonderful tales, and little philosophical fables mix together in the Mediterranean Terraces, in the heart of the garden. It’s the kind of simple and suspended moment we love when the sunny days return.
A good excuse to (re)discover Mosaïc
And honestly, even without the event, Mosaïc is already well worth the detour. Awith its gardens inspired by cultures from around the world, its artistic installations, and its large green spaces, the park is one of the most underrated spots around Lille whenever the weather is nice. So why not combine the useful with the pleasant?
