Despite what some may think, Lille continues to be popular. Even better: it's glowing up year after year and attracting more and more tourists who want to discover France. According to a recent study conducted by SumUp, three cities stand out when it comes to attracting tourists. Excluding Paris, which is in a category of its own, Bordeaux takes the top spot. The second spot is not held by Marseille, but by Nice and its dolce vita, and finally... Lille closes out this podium!

"Forget about Paris and its 12.6 million annual visitors, let's focus on other cities with great tourist potential. To determine a grand winner, SumUp conducted a study based on a variety of factors such as the number of museums, theaters, the percentage of green spaces, and the perception of safety to create a final ranking."

In Lille, historical monuments take the spotlight!

What makes Lille stand out the most? Its number of museums! "Lille takes third place in this ranking with a total score of 4.16 out of 7. Despite not having the enchanting landscapes of Nice or Bordeaux, the capital of Flanders boasts 16 historical monuments per 100,000 inhabitants. All while still having green spaces covering 36% of the city."
