When the abbey transforms into an enchanted forest
Every late November, the Abbey of Vaucelles seems to come straight out of a fantasy movie. For four days, this 900-year-old monument reignites the magic like no other: lights, fairy-tale decorations, the scent of gingerbread, and more than 50 artisans showcasing their creations under the immense gothic vaults of the 12ᵉ century. A unique, almost surreal atmosphere, where heritage answers the magic of Christmas in a setting that makes you want to whisper.
You can hunt for treasures: local sweets, poetic jewelry, handmade decor, natural cosmetics, wellness potions, a bookstore, gift ideas for all ages. The kind of market that makes you want to arrive with an empty tote bag and leave with a car full of goodies.

Workshops, Santa Claus, and a contest that could send you… soaring!
Vaucelles keeps the magic alive until the very end. Throughout the weekend, kids (and adults who love Christmas, we see you) can join in creative workshops, drop their letters to Santa in his magical mailbox, enjoy a free carousel ride, or pose for a memorable photo in a setting that would make a Netflix movie envious.
And here’s a sparkling new surprise: the contest "The Chronicles of Christmas", where you could win… a hot air balloon ride over the Nord Department. A REAL flight, soaring above the region like a living postcard. All you need to do is solve historical riddles on-site for a chance to win.
