Going on a treasure hunt for hidden bills in the streets of Lille, are you up for it? Since the end of March 2024, the Instagram account @lillecachecash has been organizing treasure hunts throughout Lille, inviting the community to find the location where banknotes are hidden. And of course, it's a hit because whoever finds the cash gets to keep it (otherwise, it's no fun)!

The concept is simple and foolproof:   a video where a person hides banknotes, giving fairly precise clues about the location and inviting the community to come and collect the jackpot without delay. It's the insanely cool idea (even if we don't really know the objective, we have to admit...) launched by the Instagram account  @lillecachecash.

From €5 to €100 to be found in Lille

Since March 22nd, the account has been regularly posting videos hiding money throughout Lille. In two weeks, 9 treasure hunts have already been organized and the concept is a huge success. Some videos have been viewed hundreds of thousands of times and the account already has over 15,000 subscribers since its recent launch.

The process remains the same: a hand hides banknotes in a specific location before filming the surroundings to allow internet users to know exactly where to retrieve this amount.

An initiative whose objective and responsible are completely unknown. The only information we have at the moment is that this page is only subscribed to local news media. Not much to investigate...
