A little female born on January 2nd

The star of the moment is a female born on January 2nd, who already weighs nearly 80 kg (yes, yes, we did say "little," but she's still a beautiful baby). For now, she is cozily nestled with her mama (who has already been a mom three times before) in the indoor space of the park, under the watchful eye of the caretakers. But great news: starting February 8th, you’ll be able to meet her in person and, let’s be honest, witness one of nature’s most beautiful shows.

The park says: “She is bursting with energy and growing right before our eyes.” So, get ready, you might just fall in love…

A (very) endangered species

The Southern white rhinoceros unfortunately doesn’t have an easy life: there are fewer than 20,000 individuals left in the wild, mainly due to poaching and habitat loss. Each birth is a little miracle for the survival of the species, so we are especially happy about this great news!

A park committed to biodiversity

Beyond the “wow” factor from the birth of this baby rhino, Pairi Daiza is a world-renowned Belgian wildlife park. Repeatedly voted "Best Zoo in Europe" and awarded "Three Stars" in the Michelin Green Guide, it offers spacious and well-maintained areas that accurately replicate natural habitats, ensuring the well-being of the species and raising public awareness of biodiversity preservation.

A meeting not to be missed

Honestly, what could be better than an 80 kg mini giant to brighten your visit? If you're a fan of wildlife and adorable animals (and a little Belgian road trip doesn’t scare you), rush over to meet this baby rhinoceros who is already becoming the park's mascot. It's sure to light up the eyes of both young and old, just a stone's throw from Lille!
